Media Create released their hardware numbers this week and it seems that the chart is once again dominated by the DS with the Wii following behind. If someone would have told us that the DS would be selling more than 100,000 units a week in Japan when it launched we would have laughed. However, sometimes reality is stranger than fiction as that is exactly what is happening. The Wii also picked up a bit of steam while the other competitors lost ground. There has been a lot of speculation around the internet concerning the PS3 and whether or not it will drop below the 10,000 units a week in Japan. While the possibility is there, we don’t believe it will actually reach that level. Perhaps this is a slow week, and as Golden Week approaches, we can all expect sales to improve. Either way, next week will be even more interesting for Sony’s hardware.
