Earlier today a trailer for Ubisoft’s Rayman: Legends leaked to the internet. We don’t have the video on our site, but it’s out there if you’re savvy enough to find it. Trailers leak all the time, but this time the trailer in question actually shows off the first real Wii U game. It gives us quite a bit of information about the system. The biggest being the use of NFC (Near Field Communications) which will allow us to add things to games by simply placing special items close to the system which then gets transferred to the game or piece of software we’re using. Nintendo announced this earlier this year, but now we have direct confirmation with the next Rayman game actually using the feature.

Make no mistake, the game is beautiful and the trailer is fantastic, complete with goofy acting. However, it must be stated that the video was never meant for the public and so you have to take what you see with a grain of salt. Either way, it’s good to finally see a Wii U game in action. Thanks, Ubisoft.

It should also be noted that Rayman: Legends will be multiplatform. However, we don’t know what platforms will be included. It’s probably safe to assume that the PC, 360, and PS3 will be getting versions, but as for the Vita, 3DS, Wii, etc. we have no idea. As we know more, we’ll let you know.
