Looks like BEYBLADE is getting a rebrand and will be hitting the 3DS later this year. Expect the marketing for this title to be in full swing in the coming months.

From the press release:

BEYBLADE: Evolution, the first BEYBLADE game to be developed for the Nintendo 3DS™, will release in North America and Europe this fall backed by a worldwide marketing campaign with support from publisher Rising Star Games, licensing agent Nelvana Enterprises and master toy licensee Hasbro.

BEYBLADE: Evolution is just one element of a major rebrand for the BEYBLADE, one of the leading kids’ brands in the world. The marketing campaign includes extensive, multi-territory cross-promotion incorporating TV, radio, print, online, in-store tournaments and social media. BEYBLADE: Evolution will also be shown at Gamescom this week; Germany is the third biggest market for BEYBLADE.The brand new BEYBLADE television series, Shogun Steel, which is previewed in BEYBLADE: Evolution, began airing last week on Cartoon Network in the US and on YTV in Canada.

BEYBLADE: Evolution, which was well received by retail and the media at E3 this year, will be released as two SKUs – a solus title with an SRP of $29.99 and a limited collector’s edition at SRP $39.99 including the exclusive Wing Pegasus 90WF BEYBLADE toy, which is not, and never will be, available to buy alone anywhere outside of Japan.

“We’re very excited about the launch of BEYBLADE: Evolution,” said Martin Defries, managing director, Rising Star Games. “There has been a two year gap since the last BEYBLADE game was launched yet the market shows no sign of waning – quite the opposite: BEYBLADE is the second biggest kids’ franchise in the world.

“Since it launched, over 200 million toys have sold worldwide and it has appeared consistently on major retailer top 10 toy lists. Coupled with the reception the game received at E3 and the support we are receiving from Nintendo, Hasbro and Nelvana, we’re confident BEYBLADE: Evolution will be a success.”
