Nintendo said the eShop and browser would be released at the end of May, but that apparently has changed. In a statement today, Nintendo noted that the firmware update for the 3DS would be launched on June 7th in Japan. This would coincide with their E3 conference where they are going to be announcing the successor to the Wii. There’s some speculation that this update will have some connection to Nintendo’s new system and releasing information early would give away some of the surprises. We’ll know for sure next month.
